Call someone

You can make domestic and international calls from your Google Voice number.


Important: Emergency calling is available only for Voice for G Suite accounts managed by your work or school.

  1. On your computer, go to voice.google.com.
  2. In the Calls Calls tab tab, if the person appears in your recent calls list, point to their name and click Call Call.

    Or, choose one of these methods in the Calls Calls tab, Messages Messages tab, or Voicemail Voicemail tab tabs:

    • If the person appears in your contacts list on the right, click their name.
    • In the search bar at the top, or in the Enter name or number field on the right, enter the person's name or phone number. Click their name in the list of contacts that appears.
    • Use the keypad to dial the number, and then click Call Call.To show the keypad, in the bottom right, click Dial Dial.

      For international calls, enter the country code before the number (for example, +55 for Brazil).

In the upper right, the Call as field shows your Google Voice number.

Make a Voice call using a URL

  1. On your computer, sign in to your Google Account in your browser.
  2. In the address bar, enter https://voice.google.com/u/0/calls?a=nc,%2Bphonenumber
    where phonenumberis the numeric digits of the phone number (no hyphens). For international calls, include the country code.

    For example, to call 1-800-555-0111, enter https://voice.google.com/u/0/calls?a=nc,%2B18005550111

  1. On your Android device, open the Voice app Google Voice.
  2. At the bottom, tap Calls Call.
  3. If the person is in your recent calls list, next to their name, tap Call Call.
    1. Or, choose one of these methods:
      • In the search bar at the top, enter the person's name or phone number. Select them from the list of contacts that appears.
      • Tap Dial Dialand enter the number.

        For international calls, enter the country code before the number (for example, +55 for Brazil).

    2. Tap Call Call.

Note: To make calls from Google Voice using your mobile carrier, you need to turn on caller ID for your phone. If you turn off caller ID, you can't make Google Voice calls using your mobile carrier.
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Voice app Google Voice.
  2. At the bottom, tap Calls Call.
  3. If the person is in your recent calls list, next to their name, tap Call Call.
    1. Or, choose one of these methods:
      • In the search bar at the top, enter the person's name or phone number. Select them from the list of contacts that appears.
      • Tap Dial Dialand enter the number.

        For international calls, enter the country code before the number (for example, +55 for Brazil).

    2. Tap Call Call.

Note: To make calls from Google Voice using your mobile carrier, you need to turn on caller ID for your phone. If you turn off caller ID, you can't make Google Voice calls using your mobile carrier.
